What is the Instagram image splitter?

It is a free browser tool that divides an image into a grid of tiles for Instagram feed carousels (1080×1350, 4:5) or stories (9:16). Choose columns and rows, preview cuts or generated slices, then download each file or a ZIP.

How do columns and rows work?

Columns split the width and rows split the height into equal segments. Slides are numbered in reading order: left to right, then the next row down. Columns × rows cannot exceed 10, which is Instagram’s carousel limit.

What is the difference between Post and Story mode?

Post mode exports 1080×1350 JPEGs (4:5 portrait, common for Instagram feed carousels). Story mode exports 1080×1920 JPEGs. Each cell is scaled with a center crop to match that size, with a white background where needed for JPEG.

How does slice preview work?

Open the Slice preview tab to build thumbnails that use the same aspect ratio and center crop as your downloads (4:5 feed for Feed, 9:16 for Stories), only smaller. Switching Feed or Stories updates the preview. Refresh preview in the sidebar forces a rebuild.
